BLESSING BOXES
Usually this project
runs from May to April (in April we turn in the money from our Blessing Boxes
and start again). Below is an idea to
use as you fill your boxes this year. The
poem talks about dimes but any amount you choose can be substituted each
month. Blessing Boxes can be picked up
in the narthex on the table with the name tags.
We still will collect the money from the boxes in April to be sent in to
the Disciples Women Homeland Ministries but you can continue to follow the poem
throughout the year.
COUNT YOUR
BLESSINGS
A Blessing Box each year we fill. So here’s an idea that just fits the bill.
In January drop in a single dime then follow
this poem for the rest of the time.
Since February is the second month, you’ll
put in two, you see.
While March, the third month of the year will
call for dimes three.
With April over you will have four more dimes
than you had.
Next comes the pleasant month of May where
five more dimes you will add.
Six in June, seven in July. See how your gift is growing.
In August there’ll be eight more dimes into
your box a’going.
September nine, October ten. Then eleven in November.
December calls for dimes twelve. You surely will remember.
Your Blessing Box dimes now are ready. Count seventy-eight in all.
But you could put a few more in. We wouldn’t mind at all.
Now that your box is full, be sure you don’t
forget
to turn in your Blessing Box money then start
again because we never quit.
