make music to our God…" (Psalm 147:7)
Augustine said that the
person who sings "prays twice." Music through song and
instrument is a very important part of the FCC worship experience.
- The
Sanctuary Choir rehearses each Thursday at 7:00 p.m. and sings at the
traditional service each Sunday, September through May. Seasonal
Cantatas are presented at various times throughout the year.
- The
Bell Choir rehearses on Thursdays at 6:15 p.m. This unique choir of
bells is special due to the colorful harmony of music it brings to worship
services.
FCC BAND
First Christian Church is forming a band to play for the
monthly Saturday Parent's Night Out service. If you play an instrument
such as guitar, keyboard, bass, etc. (we already have a drummer) please let
Pastor Davis know either by calling the office or e-mailing him at jdavis952@hotmail.com. Hope to hear from you soon.
OUR CHOIR
We
would like to increase the size of our choir!
Not that numbers are everything, but so much more can be accomplished
with a larger choir. And all are not
always present at rehearsal or at worship service, what with wintering south,
vacations and sickness, so if we can have forty or so in the choir, we would
still have a nice group in attendance at any given time.
What would your commitment to the choir involve? Practice from 7p to 8p or so on Thursday evenings, depending on what we were working on, an enjoyment of working with a group of really neat people in the preparation and presentation of music to present to the Lord, and having some fun along the way.
Not a lot of extra tikme would be needed on your part, just rehearsal… and you are in church on Sunday anyway!
You do not need a professional voice, and it is not necessary for you to be able to read music, just be willing to sing with us and enjoy doing it!
So come and join us…we would be thrilled to have you!!!
