NEWS

Vacation Bible School on June 14, 15, 16 was a success with 29 children and 9 junior volunteers participating.  This is a significant growth from the year before with 12 total.  Special thanks extended to all of the wonderful adult volunteer help who went above and beyond expectations.  The Men’s group has offered to pay for the expenses of VBS as one of their projects. VBS collected money to go toward Good Samaritan of Hamilton County and many non-perishable food items toward our Outreach families.

Youth and families get together is planned for Sunday, August 8th at Cool Creek park playground at 7:00pm.  This is strictly fellowship time.  Bring a dessert and the adults can chat while the kids play on the play equipment.

Christian Ed hopes to hold one event per month for children and their families to enjoy.  Stay tuned for a calendar of events.

Plans are in the works for a Teen Performing Art group.  There are several teenaged girls in our congregation who are interested in singing and drama.  Pastor John and Julie Moon will be meeting with Stacy Hardesty to lead this group as Stacy has talent and interest in becoming involved in this way.  We hope to pull in other kids with similar interest by attracting them with this teen group.  They would perform during service about quarterly.   Click here for kickoff meeting date.

Youth along with Christian Ed will be supporting the Evangelism Week but kicking it off with a Weiner Roast on Saturday, October 16th.  We plan to use the Green’s Barn as our gathering place if this is okay with Virginia Green.
